Wouldn’t it be lovely to have a poem pensive?
A few ideas for you here:
Write an acrostic poem of 9 lines using the word girandole.
Each line begins with the letters of the word G I R A N D O L E
The word can mean a rotating and radiating firework—it does have other meanings.
Let one of those be your theme
Or if you prefer:
Wampish
W A M P I S H
To wave about or flop to and fro
There is also a poetry competition running on Writers Magazine for a Triversen. You may need to look deeper into this modern poetry form.
In brief, a triversen has 6 stanzas of 3 lines and can use a layout of indenting the second and third line. There is also a dependence on counts of two, three, or four stressed syllables to each line. This might explain it better.
Closing date 15 September. Enter online at www.writers-online.co.uk with the ref code: Aug21/Triversen
Good luck

This looks like fun!
Great ideas. I’ll promote on Twitter.
Got a triversen! Will post on the private page.
