Sharing the Neighborhood

Whether it’s a fox loafing peacefully on a London street, or raccoons racketing around rooftops in Berlin, the sight of a wild animal in an unexpected context can give rise to some deep meditation. What have humans done to the environment? Who – or what – should have rights to a home space, when needs clash? Does it engender feelings of awe, when you catch sight of such city-dwelling cohabitants, or does it make you bristle with dislike? Take your pen for a walk through a residential neighbourhood, all your senses alert; what beasts and mini-beasts are sharing the night with you? Write through your emotions, your senses…
