Bruce Dodson readings: From San Francisco to Benares

Bruce L. Dodson, one of the founding members of Pens Around The World, has lived a long an interesting life. From Illinois and Chicago in the 1940s and ’50s, to San Francisco in the era of Flower Power and the Beat Generation, to Seattle in the 1990s, and finally to Borlänge in Sweden in the 2010s. He has traveled widely and written articles, poetry, and stories inspired by the places and people (and animals) he encountered along the way. Of his poems he says his favorite is this, written in Benares, India.

Bruce’s first published writings were a series of columns for a local newspaper about traveling on the buses of San Francisco.
