The colour scheme of this year’s card is drawn from a photo submitted by Debbie Hubbard. The angels are Gill Tennant and her sister Kathleen as children from a photo (“The Reluctant Angel”) taken by her father. The background image started life as a free-to-use image before being considerably Photoshopped. Christmas trees and reindeer silhouettes added by John Nixon.
I know my reaction is rather late, John, but I love your image. I can’t for the life of me, however, identify what photo of mine you used! 🙂
@debbieh, it was my image taken by my father in 1950, of my angelic older sister, and me very reluctant to give up my role as devil’s advocate.
Hehe! Debbie, I sampled the colours in one part of your advent photo – the one with the electric blue lights up on the top edge. I used the darkest and lightest points to create a gradient that I put over the background images of my picture so Gill’s dad’s Angels would stand out better. 🙂
