Ten fantastic guest bloggers have added their magic to our website over the last year and a half. Now we’re opening up to invite new bloggers to join them.
Could you be one?
Here at Pens Around the World we publish a new blog post every week. Since the the end of 2023, we have been privileged to also publish guest posts every second month. Our fantastic guest bloggers have been a great success, drawing new eyes to our website and giving us new input.

Who we are
Pens Around the World is a peer group of creative writers who write in English and live all around the world. We help one another with critiques and encouragement, writing exercises and suggestions for publishing opportunities. We interact in Zoom meetings and in our private forums. We offer one another the social interaction that writers in isolation need – or as much as Internet connections and e-mail allow.
If you want to get a more detailed picture of us as individuals and as a group, skim our bios on our Members page.
What sort of guests are we looking for?
You are a writer who writes in English. You may be published, or you may still be aspiring to publication. You have a story to share about your life, your experience, and/or your ambitions as a writer. See below for a list of the guests we have already published, which should give you an idea of the range of topics we welcome in our guest posts.
What we offer you
What we offer our guests is a publication opportunity and the chance to put themselves in front of a small (but growing!) new audience. Also we will include your bio and your links in our list of “Friends of Pens”, so you get a standing back-link to your website, books on-line, social media accounts – whatever you choose.
Your blog post – with links – will stay permanently on our site. (Permanently meaning as long as the site exists and as long as you don’t ask us to take it down.) You retain copyright in whatever text you give us, but we ask, if you choose to publish it elsewhere, that you include a back-link to our site.

Our guest bloggers so far
We began with Stockholm-based Irish writer Paddy Kelly who wrote- tongue in cheek we hope – about giving up writing.
At the beginning of February 2024 ‘Multi-hyphenate’ art professional Mirjam Frosth gave us a post about Connection, art, and the written word.
Mirjam was followed in April by Scottish-Swedish author Ruth Tauber with a story of Finding a hyphen of her own.
In June, Filipina author and editor Raissa Claire R. Falgui shared a post considering The Author as an Actor.
Our August guest was neuroscientist, teacher and Spanish language author Jimena Ferraris, who wrote about The world around my pen.
In October, Lisa Rose Wright, Galicia resident and author of the Writing Home trilogy of travelogue memoirs, described herself as The Accidental Author.
The last guest of 2024 was Shetland Sailing Mystery author Marsali Taylor and her piece, Coming home to a far off place.
Our guest bloggers so far in 2025 have been Angela Williams (who writes from the Netherlands as Susan Carey) and Sue Borgersen (who writes from Newfoundland as SB Borgersen). Angela gave us an account of how writing helped her live with cancer. While Sue looked back over her 25 year career as a writer, a career she only launched upon in her 50s.
